2015 Naramata Night
Night....a forgotten story in the phenomenon of wine. Ex Nihilo Night was created in honor of the mysterious balance the night brings to our vineyards. The cool night air off the Mountain Range and Lakes lowers the vineyard temperature just enough to slow down the ripening process to develop richer fruit with more complexity.
WINEMAKING
All grapes were hand harvested from the Nara-mata Bench in October, sorted and de-stemmed before fermenting on skins. Once pressed, the wines were transferred into barrels, completing malolactic fermentation. After three years of barrel aging, the wines from these five Bordeaux grapes were carefully blended to create this vintage.
TASTING NOTES
Grapes from our Black Sage Bench and Naramata vineyards were selected to create this elegant blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. After 30 months in French and American oak, this Bordeaux-style red wine is perfectly balanced with rich, deep aromas of cassis and plum. The palate boasts flavours of black currant and coffee complimented by bold, intriguing tannins.
