- Night....a forgotten story in the phenomenon of wine.
Ex Nihilo Night was created in honor of the mysterious balance the night brings to our vineyards. The cool night air off the Mountain Range and Lakes lowers the vineyard temperature just enough to slow down the ripening process to develop richer fruit with more complexity.
- VINTAGE DESCRIPTION:
The 2008 growing season at Ex Nihilo began with a much cooler spring which led to a later than usual bud break. Summer temperatures were also a little lower than average resulting in a later ripening that was fully achieved thanks to warmer weather in August and continued into September. The Merlot grapes were harvested October 28th, the Cabernet Franc on October 27th and the Cabernet Sauvignon on November 1st of 2008.
- TASTING NOTES:
A rich, full bodied Bordeaux-style blend of 50% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc. Intense and rich in colour, this elegant blend displays notes of black currant, plum, and ripe Okanagan cherries. A smooth and lingering finish reveals complex hints of tobacco, leather, cloves and dark chocolate. Aged 22 months in French oak, this well-balanced structured wine will cellar beautifully now through 2017.
Pairs well with roasted or grilled meats...and friends!
