- Night....a forgotten story in the phenomenon of wine.
Ex Nihilo Night was created in honor of the mysterious balance the night brings to our vineyards. The cool night air off the Mountain Range and Lakes lowers the vineyard temperature just enough to slow down the ripening process to develop richer fruit with more complexity.
- VINTAGE DESCRIPTION:
A cool spring gave way to later but ideal conditions for budburst and flowering. The berries developed under the Okanagan summer sun with low humidity and above average heat units. The warm summer which continued into the early fall allowed for a quicker ripening than normal. Harvest for the Ex Nihilo Merlot was October 24th, Cabernet Franc was October 27th and Cabernet Sauvignon November 1st.
- TASTING NOTES:
Night is an intense, yet elegant blend of equal parts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. This Bordeaux style wine is perfectly balanced with aromas of rich raspberry, tobacco leaves and coffee beans. The palate reveals flavours of cherry, chocolate and an earthiness that is supported by soft tannins and a finish that lasts as long as a clear Okanagan summer night.
